The Fascia Performance Program

Physician-Led Fascia Care in Beverly Hills

A fascia-first care system designed and delivered by Dr. Jacques Courseault, MD — fellowship-trained physiatrist and one of the country’s leading voices in fascia medicine. Built for pain that has not responded to conventional treatment. For hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos syndromes that need more than stability work. For athletes who want care worthy of the work their bodies do.

This is not physical therapy. It is a coordinated, medical-grade fascia program — a physician who personally screens and clears every patient, with advanced fascial technology delivered in clinic by his Fascia Specialist.

How care is scheduled. In-clinic shockwave and TECAR are delivered during Dr. Courseault’s monthly Los Angeles treatment weeks — when he is in town he screens and clears each patient and his Fascia Specialist delivers treatment at $100 per 15 minutes ($400/hour). PEMF, red light, and OxeFit are available year-round by appointment.

Physician Leadership

Led by Dr. Courseault, MD

MD · CAQSM · FAAPMR · Founder, The Fascia Institute

Dr. Jacques Courseault is a board-certified physiatrist and fellowship-trained sports medicine physician, the founder of The Fascia Institute and Treatment Center, and one of the country’s leading voices in fascia-focused musculoskeletal medicine. New Orleans–raised and Tulane-trained, he built his career caring for elite athletes and complex pain cases — then built an institute around the tissue almost no one else was treating: the fascia.

At The Fascia Institute LA, every patient in the Fascia Performance Program is under his direct medical oversight. He personally reviews and approves every plan of care, performs the institute’s procedural treatments — Hydrofascia Release™, Dextrose Prolotherapy, ProloBoost Dual PRP, and Fascial Mapping® — and consults on every case that needs a physician’s hand.

Innovation

Dr. Courseault has built much of the modern toolkit of fascia medicine himself. He developed Hydrofascia Release™ as a fascia-specific hydrodissection procedure with two structured protocols (HFR-A and HFR-P), and Fascial Mapping® — a 100+ point, head-to-toe ultrasound assessment scored on a 488-point system that gives patients the first objective, whole-body picture of their fascial dysfunction. He coined and published the clinical framework of Folate-Dependent Hypermobility Syndrome (FDHS), and launched FIT GPS™ Genomic Performance Screening to integrate genomic data into fascial and connective-tissue care.

Research & Recognition

Published in Heliyon, PM&R, the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Biomolecules. His foundational work on the connection between folate metabolism and hypermobility (PubMed: Folate-dependent hypermobility syndrome, Heliyon 2023) has been cited by Mayo Clinic and other academic centers studying connective-tissue conditions and Long COVID. Featured guest on the Lateral Think — Melbourne Athletic Development Podcast and across fascia and sports-medicine media.

In Los Angeles

The Fascia Performance Program is the rehabilitative continuation of Dr. Courseault’s medical practice. His name is on every plan that runs through it. When you book with us, you are entering his system of care — designed, supervised, and personally backed by a physician who has spent his entire career on the tissue most clinicians never learn to read.

Our Approach

A fascia-first system. Not physical therapy.

What this is not.

A stretch-and-strengthen rehab clinic. An insurance-billed PT program. A one-size-fits-all protocol applied to whatever happens to hurt.

What this is.

A physician-designed, fascia-focused system of care built around the modalities traditional PT does not deliver: TECAR, shockwave, PEMF, red light therapy, and OxeFit. TECAR and shockwave are delivered in clinic by a Fascia Specialist during Dr. Courseault’s Los Angeles treatment weeks; PEMF, red light, and OxeFit are available year-round. The result is the level of clinical thinking, equipment, and methodology that fascia and hypermobility actually require.

Why This Is Not Physical Therapy

TECAR  ·  Shockwave  ·  PEMF  ·  Red Light  ·  OxeFit

Five advanced modalities. Selected and dosed by your individual care plan. TECAR and shockwave are delivered in clinic by a Fascia Specialist during Dr. Courseault’s Los Angeles treatment weeks; PEMF, red light, and OxeFit are available year-round. The equipment, the methodology, and the clinical thinking that conventional physical therapy is not built to deliver — and that fascial dysfunction and hypermobility actually require.

Clinician 02 · In-Clinic Care

Your Fascia Specialist

On Site During LA Treatment Weeks

During Dr. Courseault’s monthly Los Angeles treatment weeks, a trained Fascia Specialist is on site in Beverly Hills during clinic hours to deliver shockwave and TECAR therapy — $100 per 15 minutes ($400/hour) — to the plan Dr. Courseault wrote and approved after screening you in person. Every session is calibrated to what your tissue needs that week.

Because these modalities carry real clinical contraindications, they are delivered only after Dr. Courseault has cleared you and only during his treatment weeks — never as a walk-in service. PEMF, red light, and OxeFit remain available year-round by appointment, independent of the treatment-week schedule.

In-clinic care delivered under the plan and medical oversight of Dr. Jacques Courseault, MD, in accordance with the California Physical Therapy Practice Act.

The Program

How the Program Runs

A simple four-step flow built around your body.

Two ways in. Patients enter the program either as the rehabilitative continuation of care following Dr. Courseault’s procedural treatments — Hydrofascia Release™, Prolotherapy, ProloBoostor directly, as a fast-access path to fascia and hypermobility treatment once a diagnosis is in hand. Both paths run through the same gateway.

01  Screening & Clearance with Dr. Courseault

In person during his Los Angeles treatment week, Dr. Courseault reviews your history, symptoms, goals, and fascial picture. He confirms the right indication for shockwave, TECAR, and PEMF — modalities with real clinical contraindications — and clears you for treatment.

02  Your Personalized Plan

Dr. Courseault writes and approves your plan of care, setting the modalities and cadence that fit your body, and provides medical oversight throughout.

03  In-Clinic Shockwave & TECAR

Delivered by the Fascia Specialist in the Beverly Hills office during Dr. Courseault’s treatment weeks at $100 per 15 minutes ($400/hour), calibrated session by session. Between weeks, PEMF, red light, and OxeFit keep your care moving — available year-round by appointment.

04  Ongoing Oversight

Dr. Courseault tracks your progress and adjusts the plan as you advance. Your care is never on autopilot.

Cases From Our Clinic

Three patients. Three pictures of what the work does.

From our Beverly Hills clinic. Names and identifying details withheld; clinical detail preserved.

Case 01 · Wrist Restriction & Forearm Chain

An active patient. Wrist pain that had crossed the line from background to daily disruption.

It had always been there — flaring during intense training, settling with rest. This time it hadn’t settled. Typing had become uncomfortable, grip strength had weakened, and carrying something as ordinary as a bag of groceries required more thought than it should. Small things, but small things repeated all day have a way of wearing you down.

Our clinical assessment found significant fascial restriction around the carpal bones — a pattern that closely mimics carpal tunnel and is often missed when only the symptomatic site is examined. Tracing the tension further up revealed holding through the forearm as well: a tightness that may have contributed to the wrist restriction, or developed in response to it. In the body, cause and effect aren’t always in a straight line.

Treatment restored alignment through the carpal bones and released the fascial tension up the chain. Relief arrived before the patient left the clinic.

The next morning, a message arrived. The patient had typed through meetings, through emails, through the afternoon — and hadn’t thought about the wrist once. The only reason it came to mind was the sudden memory that it used to hurt.

Treatment · Fascial Release · Carpal Realignment · Forearm Chain Work

Case 02 · Hypermobile EDS · Reclaiming Gait

A patient living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos. The goal was not to fix her condition. It was to find out how much freedom was still available inside it.

Hypermobile EDS doesn’t take movement away all at once. It chips at it. The recovery that stretches out. The subtle, creeping gap between who she was as a person — active, alive in her body — and what her body would reliably let her do on any given day. She hadn’t stopped moving. She had started negotiating every time she did.

Our clinical assessment told a familiar story. The abdominal wall was braced and firm — the body had learned to hold its breath, literally, to create stability that should have been coming from somewhere deeper. The lower abdominals weren’t activating. The pelvis carried years of compensation. And at the feet, midfoot fixation was collapsing the arch, shortening the stride, changing the whole rhythm of how she moved through space. Workarounds built on workarounds.

Treatment combined Hydrofascia Release for broader fascial restrictions with targeted TECAR therapy at the abdomen and quads, and soft-tissue work through the midfoot. The tissue along the abdominal wall softened in the session itself. When she stood up, the difference was visible — gait fluid, with a proper rocker action through the foot that simply hadn’t been there before.

She could walk without the shuffle. She could move through her day without her body demanding constant attention. For someone with EDS, that is not a small thing — it is the difference between a life organized around limitation and one that still has room for the things she loves.

Treatment · Hydrofascia Release™ · TECAR (Abdomen, Quads) · Midfoot Mobilization

Case 03 · Chronic Low Back & Pelvic Pain · Suspected Hypermobility

Always physical. Sports, the gym, a job that demanded real strength. By the time she came to us, standing for ten minutes brought on pain through her lower back and pelvis.

The active life she had built, the one she identified with, had quietly slipped out of reach. She suspected hypermobility, which fit — joints loose, posture always requiring conscious effort. Holding herself upright, something most people do without thinking, was exhausting her. She just hadn’t fully understood why.

Our clinical assessment brought the picture into focus. Pelvis tilted forward, pulling the lower back and hips out of alignment and creating a chain of tension that ran from the upper back all the way down to collapsed arches. Hip flexors and psoas tight and overloaded. The muscles along her back had become her skeleton — permanently contracted, doing the job her deeper stabilizers should have been sharing. She was breathing from her chest instead of her diaphragm; the body working harder just to stay oxygenated.

Treatment began with soft-tissue work to address the accumulated tension through back, hips, and legs. TECAR therapy on the calves and feet restored circulation and tissue responsiveness in regions that had gone quiet from chronic underuse. Thoracolumbar fascial release freed the ribcage so the diaphragm could finally do its job. Pelvic repositioning and deep hip-flexor release allowed everything above and below to follow.

Breathing deepened. The bracing softened. She could walk with both sides of her body contributing — a heel-to-toe movement that had been absent for a long time. When the body isn’t spending every reserve trying to hold itself upright, that energy comes back to you.

Treatment · Fascial Release · TECAR (Calves, Feet) · Thoracolumbar Release · Pelvic Repositioning
