Shockwave Therapy in Beverly Hills
Radial ESWT for chronic tendon and fascia pain — Storz Actor Machine, physician-led, the Westside’s only fascia-medicine clinic.
If you live or train anywhere from Beverly Hills to Brentwood, Santa Monica to Studio City, and you have a tendon or fascia injury that has not resolved with stretching, ice, or six months of physical therapy — radial shockwave is the modality most likely to restart healing. At The Fascia Institute and Treatment Center® of Los Angeles we deliver shockwave on the Swiss-engineered Storz Actor platform, operated by an experienced practitioner under physician oversight, inside a clinic built around fascia and connective tissue medicine. Three to six sessions. Defined endpoint. Honest about the discomfort. Strong on the outcome.
Why Patients Across LA Drive to Beverly Hills For This
Most clinics that own a shockwave device own the entry-level radial unit and use it as an add-on. FIT LA is built around fascia and tendon medicine specifically — the Storz Masterpuls, an experienced shockwave practitioner who titrates energy in real time, and the option to sequence shockwave with Hydrofascia Release™, Prolotherapy, ProloBoost Dual PRP, and Tecar inside a single plan of care. The result is not modality use for its own sake. It is the right pulse, on the right tissue, by people who understand what each one is doing.
Serving Beverly Hills & the Greater Los Angeles Area
Our shockwave patients come from across the Westside, the studios, and the Valley. The clinic sits on North Crescent Drive in the heart of Beverly Hills, two blocks north of Wilshire and a short drive from the 405 and the 101 — with valet and metered street parking on Crescent. A typical shockwave session is fifteen to twenty minutes of device time inside a 45- to 60-minute visit, which makes a series workable from a lunch break or between meetings for most of LA.

What Radial Shockwave Actually Does
Chronic tendinopathy and fasciopathy share a problem: the tissue stops trying to heal. The inflammatory phase that should have resolved months ago never does. The collagen never reorganizes. Pain becomes a feature, not a symptom. Radial shockwave delivers a precise mechanical pulse to that stalled tissue and tricks the body into restarting the healing cascade — fresh blood vessels, new collagen, depleted pain signaling.
Mechanism — Mechanotransduction
Cells convert the mechanical pulse into biochemical signaling. VEGF and eNOS drive new microvasculature into chronically under-perfused tendon. TGF-β1, BMP-2, and IGF-1 drive fibroblast proliferation and new collagen. Substance P depletion quiets pain signaling at the treated nerve endings.
Series — 3 to 6 Sessions, One Week Apart
Acute and moderate tendinopathies resolve toward the lower end of that range. Chronic pain longer than a year typically needs the full six. The strongest results emerge six to twelve weeks after the final session as collagen remodeling matures.
Honesty — The Pulse Train Is Sharp
Most patients rate the sensation 6 to 8 out of 10 in the moment, sharper over bony entheses than over muscle bellies, resolving within minutes of the device coming off the skin. Mild soreness for 24 to 48 hours afterward is part of the mechanism. Tolerability improves session to session.

The Pain Patterns We See Across Los Angeles
LA is a city of runners, tennis players, pilates instructors, golfers, padel addicts, surfers, dancers, stunt performers, hair stylists, dentists, surgeons, screenwriters living at a desk, and yoga teachers with a decade of repetitive load on the same joints. The chronic tendon and fascia patterns we treat with shockwave reflect that — and a few patterns are unmistakably local.
Foot & Heel — Plantar Fasciitis
The most common shockwave indication we treat in the Beverly Hills clinic — the morning-step heel pain that survived a year of stretching, night splints, and gel inserts. Strongest published evidence base of any radial shockwave indication. Three to six sessions, with relief continuing to deepen for weeks after the final visit.
Elbow — Tennis & Golfer’s Elbow
Lateral epicondylitis from tennis at the Beverly Hills Tennis Club or the Riviera, padel from the rooftop courts, repetitive grip work from hair stylists and dental hygienists. Medial epicondylitis from golf at Bel-Air, Riviera, or Wilshire. Both respond well to a focused radial protocol at the affected tendon origin.
Hip — Greater Trochanteric Pain / Gluteal Tendinopathy
Lateral hip pain that hurts when you lie on it at night. Common in runners on the Westside loops — San Vicente, Palisades trails, the Santa Monica boardwalk — and in long-distance walkers up Coldwater and Beverly Glen. Shockwave outperforms cortisone for durable results in this diagnosis.
Achilles Tendinopathy
Mid-portion and insertional. The pattern we see in the over-40 weekend runner, the soccer parent who picked up basketball again, the dancer back from injury, the actor who took up trail running for a role. Radial shockwave is a Level 1 indication for mid-portion Achilles.
Shoulder — Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy (Non-Calcific)
Chronic supraspinatus or infraspinatus tendinopathy without a fragmentable calcific deposit. Common in swimmers, surfers, tennis players, and patients who carry shoulder load through overhead work. If imaging shows a symptomatic calcific deposit, the right tool is focused shockwave — we will tell you and discuss referral.
Knee — Patellar Tendinopathy (Jumper’s Knee)
The basketball, volleyball, dancer, and CrossFit pattern. Pain at the inferior pole of the patella with loaded knee flexion. A solid radial shockwave indication, typically paired with eccentric loading rehab.
Hamstring & Adductor — Proximal Tendinopathies
Deep sit-bone pain in long-distance runners, hurdlers, dancers, and pilates instructors. Adductor tendinopathy in soccer players and post-partum patients. Both respond to a precise shockwave protocol at the tendon origin.
Fascial & Myofascial
Chronic myofascial trigger points, plantar fascia adhesions, post-surgical fascial restriction, shin splints, and stubborn fascial pain in hypermobile patients — an underserved phenotype that finds its way to FIT LA from across the city.
Depth limits, handled in-house. Radial shockwave attenuates past three centimeters — but depth is not a limitation when the right tool is reached for. At FIT LA we treat deep fascial and adhesion-driven targets directly in-house with Hydrofascia Release™, our ultrasound-guided fascial hydrodissection technique. Radial for what is superficial. HFR for what is deep. The right modality for the actual target.
Why Beverly Hills Patients Choose FIT LA For Shockwave
Half the orthopedic offices on the Westside own a radial shockwave device. What separates the clinical result is the equipment, the operator, the diagnosis, and the surrounding plan of care.
The Storz Masterpuls Platform
Swiss-manufactured radial pressure wave system — the reference standard in elite sports medicine and clinical rehabilitation. Cheaper radial units drift in calibration as the frequency rises. The Masterpuls maintains its rated bar output across the full frequency range, which means the dose your provider sets is the dose your tissue actually receives, pulse after pulse, session after session. FDA 510(k)-cleared, CE-marked, with a full transmitter library (R15, D20 Deep Impact, ceramic, D-Actor, V-Actor) for matching applicator to target tissue.
An Experienced Shockwave Operator
Shockwave at FIT LA is delivered by Sarah Hallett, PTA — an experienced Tecar and shockwave practitioner with the clinical depth to use the equipment well, not just push the start button. She titrates energy in real time, chooses the right transmitter for your tissue, and threads shockwave precisely into a session alongside manual therapy and other modalities. The operator matters as much as the device.
Physician Oversight & Imaging Review
Within the Fascia Performance Program, shockwave is prescribed by Andrew Bergeron, PT — a national-level fascia and hypermobility specialist — as part of a plan of care written specifically for your tissue. Dr. Jacques Courseault, MD provides physician oversight across the program, including imaging review for any case where calcific deposits or deep targets need to be ruled in or out before we start. You will not be put on a shockwave protocol that does not match what is actually wrong with your tissue.
A Full Fascia-Medicine Stack Around Each Session
Shockwave is one modality. FIT LA is built around the full fascia stack — Hydrofascia Release™, Prolotherapy, ProloBoost Dual PRP, Tecar, PEMF, Aura, and movement-based rehab — sequenced into one plan of care. Shockwave may be the right entry point for your tissue, or it may be the right tissue-priming step before a regenerative injection, or the right consolidation layer afterward. That sequencing is the part that most single-modality clinics cannot do.
What Your Visit Looks Like
Visit 1 — Evaluation & First Session
60 to 75 minutes
Diagnostic conversation, focused exam, review of any prior imaging, and where appropriate a same-visit musculoskeletal ultrasound look. Confirmation that radial shockwave is the right tool for what you have — or a redirect to HFR, regenerative injection, or a different modality if it is not. Then the first session is delivered at conservative energy so you know exactly what the pulse train feels like before we commit to a full series.
Visits 2 – 6 — The Treatment Series
30 to 45 minutes, weekly
Two to three thousand pulses per region at titrated energy (1.5 to 4 bar) and frequency (8 to 15 Hz). Energy is pushed up session to session as your tissue tolerates. Sessions are scheduled approximately one week apart to give the cascade time to play out between visits.
Weeks 6 – 12 After Your Final Session
The window where results consolidate
Most patients reach their best clinical result six to twelve weeks after the final shockwave visit as the new collagen matures and pain signaling resets. We re-evaluate at that point. Most patients do not need a repeat series.
Pricing, Insurance & Access
Shockwave therapy is generally not covered by United States insurance plans — this is consistent across radial and focused shockwave nationwide. FIT LA operates as an out-of-network specialty clinic. We provide transparent per-session and series pricing on our pricing page, and superbills on request for out-of-network reimbursement attempts. Most patients book through the Fascia Performance Program so shockwave can be sequenced into a broader plan of care alongside other modalities.
HSA and FSA funds are typically applicable for shockwave when used for a documented musculoskeletal diagnosis. We are happy to provide the documentation your plan administrator requires.
