Our most powerful regenerative option · Performed by Dr. Courseault
Twice the platelets. Two layers of repair.
ProloBoost Dual PRP is our highest-potency regenerative protocol — supraphysiologic high-dose platelet-rich plasma combined with targeted prolotherapy, primed by red-light therapy and delivered with live ultrasound guidance. Where ordinary PRP delivers a baseline regenerative signal, ProloBoost goes deeper, broader, and more complete.
What ProloBoost is.
ProloBoost Dual PRP is a structured, two-layer regenerative protocol developed at The Fascia Institute. It pairs supraphysiologic high-dose platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with targeted prolotherapy — two complementary therapies, delivered together to support the fascia, ligaments, and soft tissues that hold your body in motion.
Each treatment is performed under live ultrasound guidance, with red-light tissue activation applied to the injured area before delivery. The PRP is concentrated where the injury actually lives. The prolotherapy reinforces the structures around it. Together, they generate a deeper, more complete healing response than any single regenerative therapy can achieve alone.
Why we call it Dual.
The word Dual in our name points to two things at once. Both of them are part of why ProloBoost works the way it does.
Two complementary therapies.
PRP at the center of injury. Prolotherapy at the perimeter. Healing the source is only half the work; reinforcing the surrounding structures — the muscles that have been compensating, the ligaments and tendons that share the load — is what makes the recovery last.
Twice the platelet concentration.
Most PRP treatments use a single-spin process that captures a baseline concentration of platelets. ProloBoost uses the EmCyte supraphysiologic double-spin system, which delivers PRP with twice the platelet count of traditional PRP — and twice the natural growth factors that drive tissue repair.
The role of red-light therapy.
Before each PRP injection, we apply photobiomodulation — red-light therapy — directly to the treatment area. The light energizes the mitochondria in the injured tissue itself, priming your cells to be metabolically ready to receive and respond to the regenerative signal the moment the PRP arrives.
It is a small step that meaningfully changes the quality of the response. Cells that are activated and responsive use the platelet-rich plasma more effectively. The injection lands in tissue that is actively prepared to do something with it.
How a ProloBoost session works.
Every ProloBoost visit follows the same three-part structure — designed to map the problem, treat the source, and reinforce the surrounding system.
The two-treatment protocol.
The full ProloBoost course is delivered across two treatment sessions, scheduled approximately four weeks apart, followed by a complimentary imaging follow-up to assess your tissue response and confirm next steps.
Who ProloBoost is for.
ProloBoost is designed for patients whose connective tissue tells a complicated story — patients who have not found lasting answers in conventional care. If you have been told the answer is “more stretching” or “more stability work” but no one has actually treated the connective tissue itself, this is the kind of care that targets the source.
Hypermobility & Ligament Laxity
Patients living with connective tissue that is structurally lax — where stability requires more than rehabilitation alone.
- Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder
- Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS)
- Chronic joint instability
- Recurrent sprains
Tears & Persistent Soft Tissue Injury
Tears in tendons, ligaments, fascia, and muscles that have not fully healed on their own — particularly cases where standard rehabilitation has stalled.
- Tendon tears & partial tears
- Ligament tears
- Fascia & muscle tears
- Slow-healing injuries
Overuse & Chronic Soft Tissue Pain
Long-standing irritation from repetitive use, training load, or daily mechanics — especially across multiple regions of the body.
- Chronic tendinopathies
- Overuse-related pain
- Multi-region soft tissue irritation
- Athletes between seasons
Scar Tissue & Osteoarthritis
Scar tissue from past injuries or surgeries that continues to drive pain, and osteoarthritis — where research highlights the benefit of high-dose PRP.
- Post-injury scar tissue
- Post-surgical scar pain
- Osteoarthritis-related soft tissue pain
- Joint & cartilage support

The full protocol covers two treatment sessions approximately four weeks apart, plus a complimentary imaging follow-up to confirm your tissue response. HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Regenerative procedures are not billed to insurance.
How it compares to our other regenerative options.
ProloBoost is the most powerful regenerative option in our medical arm, but it is not the right answer for every case. Dr. Courseault selects the protocol that fits your tissue — not the other way around.
| Treatment | Best For | Cadence |
|---|---|---|
| Hydrofascia Release™ (HFR) | Releasing fascial adhesions and scar tissue mechanically. The fastest path back to glide. | HFR-A: single procedure. HFR-P: planned series. |
| Fascial Dextrose Prolotherapy | Strengthening lax ligaments, healing chronic tendons, supporting hypermobile tissue. | A planned series of sessions, spaced apart for biological repair. |
| ProloBoost Dual PRP | The most complete regenerative response. Tears, persistent injuries, hypermobility, osteoarthritis, slow-healing tissue, and cases that need a stronger biological signal. | Two treatments, four weeks apart, plus complimentary imaging follow-up. |
Frequently asked.
Three things, working together. First, the PRP is supraphysiologic — produced by the EmCyte double-spin system, which delivers roughly twice the platelet concentration (and twice the growth factors) of standard single-spin PRP. Second, the tissue is activated by red-light therapy before delivery, so your cells are metabolically primed to respond. Third, the protocol pairs the PRP with targeted prolotherapy at the surrounding structures, so we are treating the perimeter as well as the center. Standard PRP rarely does any of those three.
Photobiomodulation is the clinical name for therapeutic red-light therapy. Specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light energize mitochondria — the energy producers inside your cells — making the cells metabolically active. When the PRP is delivered immediately afterward, those cells are ready to use it. The outcome is a more responsive, more complete regenerative signal than the same PRP would produce alone.
Both are regenerative. Prolotherapy uses dextrose as a healing trigger; ProloBoost adds supraphysiologic PRP at the center of injury and red-light tissue activation, then layers prolotherapy at the surrounding structures. Prolotherapy alone is a strong choice for many cases. ProloBoost is the right tool when a case calls for the most powerful regenerative signal we can deliver — tears, slow-healing tissue, persistent injuries, complex hypermobility cases, and osteoarthritis.
The standard ProloBoost protocol is a two-treatment course, scheduled approximately four weeks apart, followed by a complimentary imaging follow-up to assess your tissue response and confirm next steps. Some cases benefit from additional sessions — Dr. Courseault will discuss this with you based on your imaging and clinical response.
Most patients describe ProloBoost as well-tolerated. Local anesthetic is used to minimize discomfort during the injection itself. Some short-term soreness or stiffness in the days afterward is normal and expected — it is part of the regenerative response that drives the actual healing.
No. Like most regenerative procedures, ProloBoost is not billable to insurance. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and the full protocol — two treatments plus the follow-up imaging — is priced transparently above.
Yes — and these are among the patient profiles ProloBoost was specifically designed to help. Hypermobile and EDS patients live with connective tissue that is structurally lax. Treatments that stimulate strong, layered collagen formation can be a meaningful part of long-term care. Dr. Courseault tailors the protocol carefully for these patients.
Some patients notice change within weeks of the first treatment. Many feel the most meaningful improvement after both sessions are completed and the tissue has had time to fully respond. Because we are stimulating biology — not masking symptoms — the gains tend to be durable.
