What Hydrofascia Release does.

Hydrofascia Release is delivered through two distinct protocols, selected by Dr. Courseault based on what your tissue actually needs. The protocols are tailored to the type, location, and stage of soft-tissue dysfunction.
HFR-A
A single, decisive procedure pairing the mechanical release of HFR with a targeted anti-inflammatory steroid. Best for smaller, well-defined areas of pain — both acute and chronic — that respond well to a one-time intervention.
Cadence: Single procedure.
HFR-P
A regenerative series pairing the mechanical release of HFR with fascial dextrose prolotherapy to stimulate tissue repair over time. Designed for more persistent, long-term tissue dysfunction that benefits from a structured rebuilding cadence.

No. HFR is a minimally invasive, in-office injection procedure performed under ultrasound guidance. There is no incision, no general anesthesia, and no surgical recovery period.
The procedure itself typically takes around five minutes. The full visit — including diagnostic conversation, ultrasound assessment, the procedure, and post-treatment recommendations — takes longer, but the procedural component is brief.
Many patients do — sometimes the moment the fluid is delivered. Because HFR performs a true myofascial release at the source, the relief can be immediate. Some patients experience a more gradual resolution over the following days as the tissue settles. Both are normal.
Most patients describe HFR as well-tolerated. Local anesthetic is used to minimize discomfort during the injection. Any short-term soreness afterward is typically mild and resolves quickly.
A cortisone injection delivers anti-inflammatory medication to a region. Hydrofascia Release uses the physical pressure of the injected fluid to mechanically separate bound tissue planes and release adhesions — a structural intervention, not a chemical one. The two address different problems.
No. Most patients receive HFR after a focused diagnostic visit and case-specific ultrasound. Fascial Mapping is an optional advanced diagnostic, recommended for complex cases or for patients who want a comprehensive view of their fascial network before treatment.
It depends on which protocol your case calls for. HFR-A is delivered as a single procedure — appropriate for many acute and chronic localized issues. HFR-P is a regenerative series of at least four treatments, spaced approximately one month apart, designed for more persistent, long-term tissue dysfunction. Dr. Courseault recommends the protocol your specific case requires — never more than that.
Most patients return to normal daily activity the same day. For higher-impact training or sport, Dr. Courseault will give specific timing guidance based on what was treated.
