HUMAN Tecar Therapy

The closest thing in modern medicine to a fascial iron.

Radiofrequency energy that heats your tissue from the inside — not from a pad pressed against your skin — and initiates a biological healing cascade that continues working for up to 72 hours after you leave the room. Session by session, the effects compound. Tissue that has been restricted, inflamed, or poorly recovered for months begins to change at a structural level.

What This Is Not — Surface-Applied Heat

Not ultrasound. Not a hot pack. Not infrared. Those therapies deliver energy to the surface and let it conduct inward — with significant limits on depth, precision, and biological effect.

What This Is — Endogenous Radiofrequency Therapy

HUMAN Tecar stimulates heat generation from within the tissue itself. The body recognizes this as a metabolic signal and responds with a healing cascade that surface heat cannot trigger.

How HUMAN Tecar Works

HUMAN Tecar passes low-frequency radiofrequency energy through tissue between a probe and a return plate. This increases ionic mobility — the movement of charged particles across cell membranes — generating heat as a byproduct of cellular activity, not external application. The body treats this as a metabolic signal and responds accordingly. Two modes. One session. Different tissue depths targeted precisely.

Mode 01

Capacitive Mode

Superficial & fluid-rich tissue

Fascia. Skin. Lymphatic vessels. Tissue compartments with high water content. Capacitive mode targets these layers, increasing ionic exchange at the surface and in the connective tissue matrix.

It is where edema resolves, fascial glide restores, and post-surgical scar tissue softens. If your treatment involves surface restriction or fluid management, this is where it starts.

Mode 02

Resistive Mode

Deep, dense & high-resistance tissue

Tendon. Muscle belly. Joint capsule. Periosteum. Resistive mode penetrates where other modalities lose effectiveness — into the dense, collagen-rich structures that carry the load of chronic injury.

It stimulates deep collagen remodeling, reduces tendon-level inflammation, and generates enough thermal effect to genuinely change tissue architecture.

The ability to move between both modes within a session is what separates HUMAN Tecar from single-modality devices. You are not choosing between superficial and deep. You are treating both — in sequence, as your tissue warrants.

The 72-Hour Healing Window

A single session does not simply produce the effects you feel in the room. It initiates a biological cascade — vasodilation, collagen remodeling, fibroblast activation, fluid reabsorption — that remains active in your tissue for up to 72 hours after you leave.

Hours 0–24 · Vascular Response

Immediate vasodilation and elevated microcirculation. Metabolic activity surges. Inflammatory mediators begin clearing. Warmth and looseness continue to deepen throughout the day.

Hours 24–48 · Active Repair

Fibroblast activation and collagen synthesis peak. This is the window of active tissue repair. New, more organized collagen is being laid down where restriction once lived.

Hours 48–72 · Remodeling & Baseline Reset

Remodeling continues. Tissue extensibility improves. The full biological effect of the session reaches expression — and sets the baseline for what the next session will build on.

Do not apply ice after HUMAN Tecar treatment. Ice suppresses the endogenous thermal response and interrupts this healing window. Gentle movement and mild warmth are what your tissue needs during the 72 hours that follow.

Stacked Benefits Over Time

A single session delivers real relief. But the structural change accumulates across a treatment series. Each session extends from where the last one ended — building on tissue progress already made rather than starting over.

Sessions 1–2

Acute Response

Pain relief. Edema reduction. Initial tissue activation. The healing cascade is initiated and the tissue is primed for what follows. Most patients feel a clear difference walking out the door, and a more lasting difference 48 hours later.

Sessions 3–4

Tissue Reorganization

Collagen fibers begin remodeling into more organized patterns. Range of motion increases. The change is structural, not just symptomatic — your tissue is being rebuilt, not simply soothed.

Sessions 5–6

Deep Normalization

Chronic fibrosis softens. Fascial planes restricted for months begin to restore natural glide. The quality of the tissue itself is measurably different — to the practitioner’s hand and to your own sense of how the body moves.

Sessions 7+

Durable Change

The tissue architecture is genuinely improved — not temporarily relieved. Results become self-sustaining. This is regenerative therapy. Not managing a problem. Resolving it.

How We Use HUMAN Tecar at FIT Los Angeles

HUMAN Tecar at FIT Los Angeles is operated by Sarah Hallett, PTA — an experienced TECAR and shockwave practitioner with the clinical depth to use the equipment at the level it was built for. Not a button-pusher. A clinician who understands what each mode is doing to your tissue in real time, and how to thread TECAR precisely into a session alongside manual therapy and other modalities.

Within the Fascia Performance Program, HUMAN Tecar is prescribed by Andrew Bergeron, PT — our national-level fascia and hypermobility specialist — as part of a plan of care written specifically for your tissue. Sarah executes that plan. Dr. Courseault provides physician oversight across the program.

It is not walk-in modality use. It is TECAR applied intelligently, within a clinical framework, by practitioners who understand the tissue they are treating.

Frequently Asked

No. Ultrasound uses mechanical sound waves. Diathermy uses higher-frequency electromagnetic energy with a different thermal profile. HUMAN Tecar uses capacitive and resistive radiofrequency at a frequency range specifically selected for connective tissue. The endogenous heat mechanism and tissue selectivity of capacitive versus resistive modes are specific to the TECAR class of device.
No. Most patients describe a deep warmth that increases gradually over the session. The intensity is managed by your provider in real time based on your feedback and tissue response. Some patients find it surprisingly comfortable for how deeply it reaches.
It depends on the condition and chronicity. Acute injuries often respond in 4–6 sessions. Chronic fascial restriction, long-standing tendinopathy, or post-surgical scar tissue typically require 8–12 sessions to achieve durable structural change. Your provider will give you an honest projection after your first session.
Ice suppresses the endogenous thermal response that makes TECAR effective. The 72-hour healing window is driven by vasodilation, fibroblast activity, and collagen synthesis. Ice vasoconstricts and downregulates that cascade. Gentle movement and warmth are what your tissue needs post-treatment.
Beautifully. The period following a procedure is when tissue remodeling is most active. HUMAN Tecar in that window supports the biological work the procedure has initiated — organizing collagen being laid down, reducing post-procedural inflammation, and improving the long-term durability of the outcome. We routinely sequence it as part of the post-procedural care plan.
HUMAN Tecar at FIT Los Angeles is delivered within the clinical framework of the Fascia Performance Program — meaning it requires an initial evaluation with Andrew Bergeron, PT, and Dr. Courseault’s clearance. This is not a barrier. It is what guarantees the treatment is applied to the right tissue, in the right mode, for the right reason.
